about this site

This site is the sixth of my portfolio websites and the 3rd of the Teddy Productions era. The purpose of this site is to show a brink of my knowledge and skills in web design and development. It shows my ability to come up with a simple and yet cutting edge design using today's (2009) design trends, and the ability to markup that design with standard compliant or valid XHTML 1.0 strict and CSS. Also it shows my ability to use JQuery, one of today's most popular javascript libraries, to create an unforgettable user experience. And finally, it shows my ability to use one of the most powerful programming language around Java, combined with JSP, JSTL, XML and MySql to create a rich, dynamic, secure and robust web 2.0 application using only a very simple text editor with no IDE functionality.

the chronicles of a portfolio website

Since 2004, there have been many of those Teddy website, and in the summer of that year the first one was launched and it was named TeddyMania. It was just a showoff of some really good HTML/CSS skills.

Shortly after, the first TeddyZone was launched, and it was a masterpiece of XHTML/CSS Javascript and some flash animation. The first TeddyZone lasted from 2004 to late 2005.

In late 2005 and early 2006 and old, but rebirth web technology was getting increasingly popular around the web since its first appearance on the Fifth Element website for the 1997 movie starring Bruce Willis Flash. New techniques always call for new websites, and TeddyZone 2 was launched. It was a complete flash website with advanced Action Script 2.0 programming to load and parse XML data, using PHP to upload media contents and to interact with a MySql database. That site was a hit. From late 2005 to 2007, I had more business with that site than any other one until Teddy Productions 3.

The first Teddy Productions was launched in late 2007 and it was intended to display my LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySql and PHP) platform skills site, and it was the least lucrative of all of them since it had no eye candy whatsoever the focus was strictly development.

By summer 2008 a new website was much needed, and Teddy Productions 2 was launched. Using the same LAMP objective of the first one, but combined with some attractive 2D and 3D Flash animation, an extended use of Ajax, and a cutting edge design Teddy Productions was back and was a hit. It was the longest lasting of the Teddy sites.

A year later, summer 2009, my finest masterpiece yet was launched-Teddy Productions 3.0 powered by Marie.
